WARREN COUNTY SENIOR ARTISTS TIE UP SIX RIBBONS AT NEW JERSEY SENIOR CITIZEN STATE SHOW

The Warren County Cultural & Heritage Commission is pleased to announce the Warren County Senior Artists participants and winners at the highly competitive  state wide 2014 New Jersey Senior Citizen Annual Juried Art Contest and Exhibition. Art works by Warren County Senior Artists have taken a Second Place Ribbon, two Third Place Ribbons, and three Honorable Mention Awards in the highly competitive State-wide Senior Art Show held at Meadow Lakes, East Windsor.

 In the Professional Division John Stinger of Stewartsville won a prestigious Second Place Ribbon for his Acrylic painting, St. Simons Shadows. Also, in the Professional Division, Duane Alpaugh of Washington won an impressive Third Place Ribbon for his Oil painting, Those Warren Hills, and Endel Uiga of Great Meadows won Honorable Mention for his Professional Digital work, Autumn Colors.

 The non-professional category celebrated winners include; Dorothy Teel of Phillipsburg won a notable Third Place Ribbon for her Drawing Camp Teel. Susan Goran of Port Murray won an Honorable Mention for her Watercolor Nature’s Patterns and Susan Reynolds of Washington also won an Honorable Mention for her Oil painting Moon Over Washington.

Warren County artists participating in the Professional Category were Ruth Grabner of Washington, Don Myles of Belvidere, and Pat Olds of Washington. Warren County artists participating in the Non-Professional Category include: Leilani Hardy of Phillipsburg, Karen J. Hoffman also of Phillipsburg, Rebecca Tonjes of Blairstown, and Cathy Lynn Ulrichny also from Blairstown.

 Participation in the State-wide show is determined by winning a Blue Ribbon in the annual Warren County Senior Art Show. Competition at the State level is extremely strong yet, year after year our Warren County Senior Artists bring home the ribbons.

Warren County's participation in this art event is sponsored by the Warren County Cultural & Heritage Commission, supported by the Warren County Freeholders, and is funded in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.

The 48th Annual New Jersey Senior Citizens Art Show is a co-sponsored project of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and Mercer County’s Division of Culture and Heritage. Additional support comes from Springpoint Foundation, the NJ Association of Area Agencies on Aging, Mercer County Office on Aging, Union and Hunterdon Counties, and the volunteers and staff of Meadow Lakes. The Exhibit is open to the public through October 29, Mondays through Saturdays, 10 am – 4 pm, at 300 Meadow Lakes, East Windsor, NJ 08520 (Telephone: 609-448-4100).
