YET ANOTHER NICE SUMMER SUNDAY CONCERT SERIES IN SWEET & SUNNY DOWNTOWN OXFORD

 

 ECO DEL SUR AT SHIPPEN MANOR

Eco Del Sur will be bringing famous musical sounds of South America to the Shippen Manor Lawn in a free concert . Eco Del Sur’s seven member band provides music that includes a wide range of styles and rhythms seldom heard elsewhere. Pre-Columbian and Spanish musical heritages combine with rhythms and styles of the Pacific and Atlantic Coasts as well as Caribbean and African influences for a very unique concert.

Eco Del Sur band members play an impressive array of instruments including: zamponas, quenas, quenachos, antaras, zencas, rondador, ocarinas, moxenos, flute, soprano saxophone, clarinet, charango, mandolin, guitar, Venezuelan cuatro, Columbian tiple, bass, congas, bombo, tambora, bongos, Peruvian cajon, maracas, guiro, claves, rain sticks, guaza, chakchas, among others.

Their highly developed musical talents provide for a rewarding performance of an unusual, distinctive, and exceptional nature. Eco Del Sur, which means ‘echoes of the south’, was founded in 2000 to preserve the heritage and culture of different Latin American regions and released their first album in 2001. They have performed throughout the Eastern United States with a large repertoire of famous Latin American songs that are now part of the world’s popular culture. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, alcohol free coolers, picnic baskets, and significant others to enjoy this free concert.

Shippen Manor Lawn is located just off Route 31, just west of the traffic light in sweet and sunny downtown Oxford. This FREE Eco Del Sur concert is sponsored by the Warren County Cultural & Heritage Commission, supported by the Warren County Freeholders, and funded in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Bring blankets or lawn chairs, a picnic, a couple of friends & your best relaxing mood. The lawn at Shippen Manor is reasonably accessible and accessible lavatories are available.  Individuals with hearing or speech impediments may call the relay service at 711.
