The farmer at the above address told this researcher that they though it was a Indian burial ground.
According to an article called "Of Days Gone By" in the Blairstown News dated May 21,1997, This Burial place is mentioned in the section
dating back to May 23,1877 (120 years ago). It states: Few if Any persons living in this vicinity are aware of the faintest recollection of a
burying ground on the premises of David Brands (now 20 Polkville Rd), some two miles below this place (Blairstown). We visited his
antiquated spot last Tuesday and with the help of Emanuel Snover , the courteous and gentlemanly tenant of Mr. Brands as a guide, we
experienced no difficulty in reaching the graveyard. On the banks of the Paulinskill Kill overlooking two beautiful springs, the water of
which is icy cold and clear as crystal, our forefather designated this spot as the resting place of their dead. It has been so long since any
person was consigned to this spot that massive trees have sprung up and around simple stone slabs, upon which the date were inscribed in
rude and uncouth characters, earth and root have become so imbedded that few stones in an upstanding position. Ten years since a large
number of stones were standing, the dates of which could be traced as far back as 1719 but we could only make out one date of 1779.
